Meet The Team
Our staff are extremely important to your child and to us and we ensure that they are caring, fun and are highly experienced and qualified in early year’s childcare and education and that they LOVE little people. At Sandhurst Nursery we believe that each child is treated and valued as individuals and that we provide a caring, safe and secure environment where learning is fun. We believe that each and every child is gifted in different ways and that given the right support and encouragement that they will reach their full potential and shine at different times throughout their life. We believe that it shouldn’t matter how slowly a child learns as long as we are encouraging them never to stop.
Mrs. C. Giles
I have been with the nursery from the start, in 1994! I have an Early Years Foundation Degree in Childcare and Education, a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, a Level 2 Child Protection Certificate, a Level 2 Makaton Certificate, the list goes on………!
I am the Nursery Manager and owner of the nursery, a role that I really enjoy even though, at times, I feel my age! but there is a positive side too, the children defiantly keep me young!!! I am very passionate about providing good quality childcare that is affordable to all. I enjoy nothing better that when a shy child joins the nursery, and over time develops into a confident little person ready for their next step on the education path.
I am also the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator and enjoy working alongside those families whose children need some additional support and helping them with the challenges they face as their child enters into the world of education.
My favourite colour is purple and I like the arty crafty activities and The Gruffalo storybook. When I’m not working ha ha! I enjoy catching up with family and friends.
Miss L. Smith
I completed the Bracknell and Wokingham College Registration Ready Homebased Childcare Award on the 2nd August 2019. It was then that I decided I wanted to be part of a team, so the next logical step was to become a Nursery assistant, one of the best decisions I have made. I now have a wonderfully rewarding job working alongside likeminded people helping every child to reach their full potential. I am also first aid trained and hold a Safeguarding Certificate.
I love having fun at nursery with the children as every day is different. I especially like being outside exploring and searching for bugs. Oh how I really love bugs, spiders snails and all sorts of other creepy crawlies, unlike some of the other staff who have been known to run a mile when they come across a spider.
As a Mum my weekends are all about family and are mainly taken up with the boys and their many activities, they are constantly on the go, very much like nursery. I am very lucky as I get to help children have fun every day whilst they learn and get paid for the privilege.
My favourite colour is red and my lucky number is 5.
Mrs. L. Shaddock
I have worked at Wellington College, thereafter moving onto the primary school that my children go to. I was a lunchtime controller and a teaching assistant in reception for 7 years. I really enjoyed working with all age groups throughout the primary school but particularly enjoyed working with the children in reception as I felt I could really engage with them and get the best out of their development.
When I am not working I like to go out for long walks, camping and spending time with my family, visiting new places.
Within the nursery environment, I love to be outside in the garden finding bugs and constructing towers and castles! I also enjoy going for local walks with the children, to the park and exploring the surroundings outside of nursery. I enjoy reading
Paddington Bear and my favourite colour is purple.
