Meet The Team

Our staff are extremely important to your child and to us and we ensure that they are caring, fun and are highly experienced and qualified in early year’s childcare and education and that they LOVE little people. At Sandhurst Nursery we believe that each child is treated and valued as individuals and that we provide a caring, safe and secure environment where learning is fun. We believe that each and every child is gifted in different ways and that given the right support and encouragement that they will reach their full potential and shine at different times throughout their life. We believe that it shouldn’t matter how slowly a child learns as long as we are encouraging them never to stop.

Mrs. C. Giles

I am the dinosaur of the nursery, a mum to three grown up boys and a granny of 1.

I have been with the nursery from the start, in 1994! I have an Early Years Foundation Degree in Childcare and Education, a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, a Level 2 Child Protection Certificate, a Level 2 Makaton Certificate, the list goes on………!

I am the Nursery Manager and owner of the nursery, a role that I really enjoy even though, at times, I feel my age! but there is a positive side too, the children defiantly keep me young!!! I am very passionate about providing good quality childcare that is affordable to all. I enjoy nothing better that when a shy child joins the nursery, and over time develops into a confident little person ready for their next step on the education path.

I am also the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator and enjoy working alongside those families whose children need some additional support and helping them with the challenges they face as their child enters into the world of education.
My favourite colour is purple and I like the arty crafty activities and The Gruffalo storybook. When I’m not working ha ha! I enjoy catching up with family and friends.

Mrs. E. Sanders

Sandhurst Nursery will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s where my 3 children, who are now 24, 22 and 18, attended and where I started my Early Years career 14 years ago, gaining my Level 3 certificate in children’s care, Learning and Development. I have also completed Elklan Level 1 Let’s Talk with Under 5’s where I found a new passion for supporting those children who have delayed Speech and Language.

After a little break I am delighted to be returning to the Nursery. I love helping the children, watching them grow and develop their learning and ideas to extend their play. I am passionate about being a positive influence in the early years of children’s lives and supporting them to become independent individuals.

In my spare time I love to bake, walk my two dogs, Beau and Chester and quite often I get roped into helping my daughter look after her horse, Tordo.

Miss L. Smith

I am a Mummy of two young extremely busy and fun loving boys and I joined the nursery in February 2020.

I completed the Bracknell and Wokingham College Registration Ready Homebased Childcare Award on the 2nd August 2019. It was then that I decided I wanted to be part of a team, so the next logical step was to become a Nursery assistant, one of the best decisions I have made. I now have a wonderfully rewarding job working alongside likeminded people helping every child to reach their full potential. I am also first aid trained and hold a Safeguarding Certificate.

I love having fun at nursery with the children as every day is different. I especially like being outside exploring and searching for bugs. Oh how I really love bugs, spiders snails and all sorts of other creepy crawlies, unlike some of the other staff who have been known to run a mile when they come across a spider.

As a Mum my weekends are all about family and are mainly taken up with the boys and their many activities, they are constantly on the go, very much like nursery. I am very lucky as I get to help children have fun every day whilst they learn and get paid for the privilege.

My favourite colour is red and my lucky number is 5.

Mrs. L. Shaddock

I am married and a Mummy of 3 lovely children. I have lived in the area all my life, attending the local primary school and then onto the school next door!

I have worked at Wellington College, thereafter moving onto the primary school that my children go to. I was a lunchtime controller and a teaching assistant in reception for 7 years. I really enjoyed working with all age groups throughout the primary school but particularly enjoyed working with the children in reception as I felt I could really engage with them and get the best out of their development.

When I am not working I like to go out for long walks, camping and spending time with my family, visiting new places.

Within the nursery environment, I love to be outside in the garden finding bugs and constructing towers and castles! I also enjoy going for local walks with the children, to the park and exploring the surroundings outside of nursery. I enjoy reading
Paddington Bear and my favourite colour is purple.

Miss. M. Peebles

I am the nursery cleaner and a mum of three, my youngest of which came to Sandhurst Nursery before moving on to primary school. I am the nursery cleaner, a job that I enjoy, seeing what the children have been up to and the mess they have created especially around Christmas, you would not believe where glitter can get!!! It is very rewarding seeing the difference a clean can do and I pride myself on leaving the nursery in a clean and safe place ready for the children in the morning.

Miss. S. Nice

My first experience with Sandhurst Nursery School was when I came here on placement from Bracknell and Wokingham College where I was studying for my level 2 diploma in Early Years and Childcare. I really enjoyed my time at the nursery and having finally finished the course I realised that I wanted to continue studying and am now starting an apprenticeship to gain my level 3 with Sandhurst Nursery. I am the oldest of 5 siblings so it goes without saying I have a lot of experience of being around children!

When not working or studying I like to chill out watching movies and eating popcorn with my friends and family, so it is no surprise that one of my favourite activities is singing with the children!

My favourite colour is purple.
