Meet The Team

Our staff are extremely important to your child and to us and we ensure that they are caring, fun and are highly experienced and qualified in early year’s childcare and education and that they LOVE little people. At Sandhurst Nursery we believe that each child is treated and valued as individuals and that we provide a caring, safe and secure environment where learning is fun. We believe that each and every child is gifted in different ways and that given the right support and encouragement that they will reach their full potential and shine at different times throughout their life. We believe that it shouldn’t matter how slowly a child learns as long as we are encouraging them never to stop.

Carol Giles

I am the dinosaur of the nursery, a mum to three grown up boys and a granny of 1.

I have been with the nursery from the start, in 1994! I have an Early Years Foundation Degree in Childcare and Education, a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, a Level 2 Child Protection Certificate, a Level 2 Makaton Certificate, the list goes on………!

I am the Nursery Manager and owner of the nursery, a role that I really enjoy even though, at times, I feel my age! but there is a positive side too, the children defiantly keep me young!!! I am very passionate about providing good quality childcare that is affordable to all. I enjoy nothing better that when a shy child joins the nursery, and over time develops into a confident little person ready for their next step on the education path.

I am also the nursery’s Special Educational Needs Coordinator and enjoy working alongside those families whose children need some additional support and helping them with the challenges they face as their child enters into the world of education.
My favourite colour is purple and I like the arty crafty activities and The Gruffalo storybook. When I’m not working ha ha! I enjoy catching up with family and friends.

I live in Sandhurst – not far from the nursery, with my 3 beautiful daughters. They keep me very busy but being mum is the best job in the world, they make me very proud! We also have a dog called Busta and a cat called Flossy,

I have worked with children for most of my adult life, in Nurseries, Nannying and now at Sandhurst Nursery School where I am the Nursery Co-ordinator. I have always had a passion for working with children, I love to watch them grow and develop into the best little people they can be, helping them experience and achieve new things, seeing them so happy each day is so rewarding.

I love being outdoors exploring with the children, messy play is also one of my favourites along with playdough, painting, gluing, mark making in gloop, water play and so much more. I don’t consider myself to have a great singing voice but I do really enjoy singing with the children and reading stories

In my spare time I like going for fun walks, bike rides, and camping.

Having family adventures and catching up with friends. One of my favourite places to be is at the beach!
